What Is Fulvic Acid?
Fulvic acid is a natural compound that forms as plant matter breaks down over a very long time, and it is found in soil, peat and ancient plant deposits.

Where fulvic acid comes from
When plants decay, microbes break them down into a dark, complex mix called humic substances. Over long periods this material settles into soil, peat, and older deposits such as humic shale. Fulvic acid is one part of that mix.
What is the difference between fulvic acid and humic acid?
Chemists split humic substances by how they behave in water:
| Fulvic acid | Humic acid | |
|---|---|---|
| Dissolves in water | At any acidity | Only when the water is not acidic |
| Molecule size | Smaller | Larger |
| Colour | Yellow to golden brown | Dark brown to black |
Many products, ours included, carry both. See fulvic and humic.
Is there a difference between fulvic acid and fulvic minerals?
Yes. Fulvic acid is the compound itself. Fulvic minerals, or fulvic acid minerals, are trace minerals that come in a liquid alongside fulvic acid. Daily Bio-Minerals is the second kind: a liquid trace mineral complex with fulvic and humic acids.
What food is high in fulvic acid?
Fulvic acid is not a nutrient you will find on a food label. It sits in soil and plant deposits rather than in fruit, vegetables or grains, which is why it is sold as a liquid or powder.
What minerals are in fulvic minerals?
It depends on the product. Our label describes a broad spectrum of naturally occurring minerals and trace elements from plant-based sources, and does not list individual amounts, so we do not quote any. Here is what the label does state:
Ingredients, as on our label: Purified Water, Organic Colloidal Trace Minerals (with fulvic & humic acids), Volcanic Cinders.
